Organizing in 1,2,3

Written by: Elizabeth L. Miranda; Owner of Mercury Organizing Professionals, relieves pain caused by disorganization, helps individuals and companies gain control of their space and creates systems that can be easily maintained.

When it comes to working on non-core office tasks, create a workable system in your daily routine and you will reduce the hours wasted and will maximize the hours needed to grow your business. Allowing you to focus on what you value most, whether it is seeking more clients, working on more personal goals or just spending more time with your family and friends.

If you are a small company or individual working out of a home office, the best way to grow your business is to get organized. The benefits of being organized reach farther than finding the things you need when you need them. It creates focus, saves time and money. Organizing may be a big word and a daunting task but it can be done easily if broken down into these three simple steps.

First you must set aside an uninterrupted hour or two and roll up your sleeves to work. Apply the A.S.K system that we use at Mercury Organizing Professionals.
A = Assess. Make an assessment or take an inventory of what you presently own.
S = Sort.Separate all like items together and put into different categories.
K = Keep or toss those things you don’t need anymore, are expired, or broken.

Ask your self how you use everything that crosses your door; what is its purpose? How often do you need it? By asking yourself a few simple
questions at first you can reduce clutter, and save time by finding it quickly; knowing it’s in a place that makes sense to you.

By giving away responsibly to charitable organizations you don’t have to feel guilty about getting rid of something that has no purpose or you don’t like. If you need help getting started you can visit MOP’s website links for suggestions where you can donate and for other helpful resources you can use for your business.
