A new member joins LinkedIn every second. Even all the Fortune 500 companies have Executives that are members. These are powerful facts.
How are you using LinkedIn?
Here is one, for sure, way to make yourself known on the professional social media monster. Join groups that fit into your opportunities. You should have a list of Opportunities in your Marketing Plan. Search for groups that fit your criteria and join them. However, don’t just join them…participate in them! Post discussions, comment on discussions, bring food for thought. You have to establish yourself as an expert in your field. Don’t pitch your product or service, just provide useful information that people can use. The more you do this on consistent basis the more known you will become. All you have to do is go to the Groups tab on the top of the page, click on it, and scroll down to the Group Directory. Then enter a name or keyword, like “CPA” or “Attorney Chicago”. The results will pop up in order from the most amount of members to the least.
You only need to spend 30-45 minutes a day, even at night while you are watching TV, to make people believe you are the person to turn to when they need help in your respected field.
